We are the University of St Andrews Development Office, charged with developing and strengthening the University’s position at the forefront of teaching, learning and research by inspiring active participation, investment and loyalty to St Andrews. We are responsible for the University’s philanthropic fundraising and relations with our 72,000 alumni, friends and benefactors worldwide. For the last few years, we have also planned and executed many of the celebrations and fundraising efforts that are part of the 600th Anniversary campaign – including the launch in February 2011 with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the academic celebration in September 2013 featuring Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Dame Jane Goodall and Former United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Through this blog we will bring you voices from our unique community and share with you some of the ways your gifts to the campaign make their experiences possible. You’ll hear from students trying out new activities and subjects, lecturers preparing for classes or carrying out innovative research, staff members providing important services, and parents and alumni who provide the advice, inspiration and philanthropic support that will propel St Andrews into its seventh century. You may discover things about your St Andrews community that you never knew, and find more reasons to feel proud to be a part of it. There will always be links and photos if you’re curious to learn more!
We also want to hear from you, so if a post engages you, raises questions for you or touches on a subject you’ve thought a lot about, we hope you’ll tell us in the comment section or contact us privately.
So, come along with us as we meet the incomparabubble individuals who are St Andrews. If you have an idea for a post or have any questions at all please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or +44 (0) 1334 467194. More information is available 24 hours a day on our website, too!
